Lane H. Potkin, Esq.
Principal
Lane H. Potkin is a 1975 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of George Washington University and a 1978 graduate of the National Law Center (George Washington University, with honors). Mr. Potkin specializes in real estate and commercial transactions, and over the last 35 years has represented local real estate developers, owners, businesses and lenders with various aspects of purchasing, selling, leasing, structuring, financing and developing real estate. Mr. Potkin also has extensive experience in landlord and tenant matters and condominium development in the District of Columbia, and has been involved with the formation of more than one hundred condominium projects in the District, representing and advising many well-known area developers. In 1983 Mr. Potkin and Robert Leibner formed the firm of Leibner & Potkin, the predecessor to Potkin, Williamowsky & Pillay, PLLC. He is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia bars. Some of his clients include Douglas Development Corp., P.N. Hoffman, Inc., and Abdo Development LLC.
Jaclyn E. Williamowsky, Esq.
Principal
Jaclyn E. Williamowsky is a 2006 graduate of American University, Washington College of Law and a 2003 graduate of New York University. Mrs. Williamowsky specializes in real estate and commercial transactions, representing local real estate developers, landlords, and businesses with various aspects of purchasing, selling, financing and developing real estate. Mrs. Williamowsky specializes in condominium conversions in the District of Columbia, and has been involved with the formation of hundreds of condominium projects, representing and advising many well-known area developers. Mrs. Williamowsky also has an expertise in title matters and has conducted thousands of residential and commercial closings. Mrs. Williamowsky is a partner with the firm, Potkin, Williamowsky & Pillay, PLLC. She is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia bars.
Anand (“Andy”) M. Pillay, Esq.
Principal
Anand (“Andy”) M. Pillay is a partner with the firm Potkin, Williamowsky & Pillay, PLLC. While his legal practice encompasses a wide range of real estate and business related matters, Andy’s practice primarily consists of representing purchasers, developers, property owners, investors, joint ventures, sellers and lenders in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions pertaining to the acquisition, financing, development and disposition of various types of real estate. Whether providing counsel to commercial or residential property owners in connection with resolving boundary disputes or other title issues, or providing solutions to regional developers in connection with the capitalization and structure of real estate development projects, Andy’s commitment to client-driven solutions is paramount.
Andy is also a licensed title agent and has successfully handled hundreds of commercial and residential settlements in the aforesaid capacity. His comprehensive understanding of the title insurance underwriting processes and risk analyses enables him to successfully and efficiently resolve the many complex title issues inherent in commercial and residential real estate transactions.
In addition to the foregoing, Andy has extensive experience in counseling clients on general corporate matters relating to entity formation, organization, mergers, and reorganizations.
Andy is a D.C. area native and graduate of Landon High School in Bethesda, MD. He earned his BA with distinction from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, and his Juris Doctorate from New England School of Law in Boston, MA. He is a member of the Maryland, District of Columbia, and Massachusetts Bars.
Kevin M. Musheno, Esq.
Settlement Attorney
Kevin M. Musheno is a 2008 graduate cum laude of the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, majoring in Political Science and Accounting, and a 2011 graduate of Notre Dame Law School. Mr. Musheno represents primarily local real estate developers in commercial real estate financing and purchase transactions and corporate formation and governance matters. Mr. Musheno also advocates on behalf of clients in Landlord and Tenant and Small Claims matters before the District of Columbia’s Superior Court. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Musheno serves a settlement agent for commercial, residential and condominium closings in the District of Columbia.
John ("J.D.") E. Driscoll, III, Esq.
Settlement Attorney
John E. Driscoll, III, is a 2002 graduate of the University of Maryland’s Francis King Carey School of Law and a 1999 graduate of Pennsylvania State University. Before joining the firm in 2020, he spent nearly twenty years representing creditors in residential foreclosures, bankruptcy, and collection actions, in addition to examining titles and other real-estate purchase and leasing documents. Mr. Driscoll incorporates this prior experience into clearing title issues, drafting organizational documents for the firm’s clients, and handling real-estate closings.
Mr. Driscoll is a contributor to the People’s Law Library of Maryland and a panelist for the Fairfax Law Foundation/Legal Services of Northern Virginia, advising pro bono clients on consumer debt issues. Mr. Driscoll also serves as a volunteer legal advisor for his church, Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Virginia.
Mr. Driscoll is a member of the Virginia, Maryland, and District of Columbia bars; the bars of the United States District Courts for the Districts of Maryland and the Eastern District of Virginia; and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia bar.
